ISO: 200 | SS: 1/200 SEC. | APERTURE: F/4.0 | FOCAL LENGTH: 35MM
For this bridal session, I was inspired by Tara’s classic features and her elegant tulle wedding gown. I wanted to create a soft bridal portrait with lots of movement and light for an airy, romantic feel. In addition to more traditional portraits, I took a series of shots with Tara dancing in the gown with its lace details and flowing skirt. I think every woman feels like a princess in her wedding dress, and I wanted to capture that dreamy, fairy tale look with these images.
The studio had a small amount of natural light from a window, and because I wanted a brighter but still natural look, I enhanced the natural light with the AlienBees™ using the large Octabox. I bumped up my ISO to allow a little more natural light in, and the light from the AlienBees™ and Octabox added more light to the scene for a dreamy feel while also stopping the action with the flash.
For each shot, the AlienBees™, with the Octabox, was placed to the left of the camera at about a 45 degree angle.
