To get the fine art vibe in my series of painterly portraits, it is vital to light them as softly
as possible, but also to produce interesting, beautiful and directional lighting. To make this happen, I fire the two AlienBees™ B400’s with 7” reflectors into a wall behind me to get an overall wash of light and detail on my subject, their garments and set. My key light is an AlienBees™ B800 with a Paul C. Buff, Inc. Octabox, with internal baffle which gives a soft, yet directional light. All are fired using the CyberSync™ trigger system.
